INVE Aquaculture Health organised a Shrimp Disease Prevention Seminar during WAS, Bali, Indonesia

INVE continues to lend its support to World Aquaculture 2005 and specifically shrimp and fish farmers worldwide.  During the WAS meeting at Bali in early May, INVE not only had a centrally located booth in the trade show, but also organised a special shrimp farmers seminar. The INVE Aquaculture Health division introduced innovative solutions that are specifically developed to support sustainable shrimp hatchery and grow-out production through a seminar called "Cost-Effective INVE Solutions on Disease Prevention for the Whole Production Cycle" which received a lot of interest from WAS's participants.

Recently, INVE enlarged its scope of action towards specific and preventive interactions to maintain various stages of fish and crustaceans in a state of well-being and free from illness. The business unit INVE Aquaculture Health steers the development of a range of solutions targeting 3 areas: hygiene (Sanocare® product range), control of micro biota (Sanolife® product range), and enhancement of immune response and stress resistance (Sanoguard® product range).

Speaking at the seminar were Dr. Patrick Lavens, Business Unit Manager of INVE Aquaculture Health, who presented the essentials of health management, and Dr. David Moriarty, Senior Microbiologist of INVE Aquaculture Health.  Dr. Moriarty gave a very detailed and well-appreciated study on the development, effectiveness and cost of true probiotics in hatcheries and shrimp farms, documented with field evaluations using INVE's innovative probiotics Sanolife® MIC (for hatcheries) and Sanolife® PRO (for grow-out). Both presentations were followed by a discussion session with the audience. Over 70 farmers attended this seminar.
