Ukraine's meat production shows decrease

In April, meat processing enterprises reduced the production of meat and its by-products by 0.6%, or 577 tonnes to 92,713 tonnes, compared to the previous month.

In April 2011, production of meat and its by-products rose by 16.3% or 13,026 tonnes, compared with April 2010.

In January-April 2011, production of meat and its by-products grew by 11.6% or 36,918 tonnes to 354,902 tonnes, as compared with January-April of 2010.

In March, meat processing enterprises boosted production of meat and its by-products by 10.4% or 8,768 tonnes to 93,290 tonnes, compared with February.

In 2010, production of meat and its by-products increased by 6.3% or 59,236 tonnes, compared with 2009, to 999,507 tonnes.
