Brazil's hog slaughter rose 7.2% in Q1 2022
Brazil's hog slaughter increased by 7.2% in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year, according to preliminary data from the Livestock Production Statistics released by IBGE.
The number of pigs slaughtered totaled 13.64 million, an increase of 2% compared to the fourth quarter of 2021.
Preliminary pork production results point to 1.24 million tonnes in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 6.7% compared to the same period of 2021 and an increase of 1.8% compared to the fourth quarter of 2021.
