Taiwan forbids mail-delivered pork products to prevent ASF

Taiwan now forbids pork products and other animal products to be sent by mail.

To discourage illegal imports of pork products and to reduce the risk of introducing African swine fever (ASF), the country is imposing fines for parcels containing pork products.

As of May 20, any international parcels with pork products from ASF-affected countries will be seized, sealed, and returned and the recipient will be subject to a fine of NT$200,000 (US$6,700) and NT$1,000,000 (US$33,600) for the second offense.
