Cobb holds first technical school for South America

Nearly 120 representatives from 79 companies across South America took part in the first management technical school held by Cobb-Vantress, Inc. for this region.

The event, which involved customers from 10 South American countries took place at the Wish Resort Golf Convention, in Foz do Iguaçu, State of Parana, Brazil - chosen because of its location close to the countries served by Cobb in South America.

"The purpose of the school was to bring our customers together for a week to provide them with updated information about the Cobb package, the poultry industry and ways to optimise management and production costs to improve broiler results, said Cassiano Bevilaqua, Cobb South American marketing manager. "We were delighted with the great support of our customers and hope this event will serve as a regular means of spreading technical information throughout the region."

The event was opened by the Cobb director of operations for South America, Gustavo Wassermann, who spoke about the company's market and the technical team working in the field.

Specialists from both the world and regional technical support teams covered topics including global trends in automation and management, lowering production costs with improved nutrition, the yield and economic benefits of the Cobb genetic packages, cost saving through first-week broiler management and comparison of results from traditional poultry houses versus controlled environments.
