Iraqi silos receive over 400,000 tonnes of wheat, barley
Iraq's Ministry of Trade announced that the country's grain processing plants received more than 400,000 tonnes of wheat and barley crops.
The Ministry of Trade quoted the Director General of the General Company for Grain Trade, Hassan Ismaeel, as saying during his visit to the marketing locations, "The received amounts of wheat reached 327,000 tonnes while the amounts of barley reached 60,644 tonnes."
The Council of Ministers has approved on May 14 to receive the wheat and barley crops which were damaged during last winter all over Iraq. The tour of the Director General for the General Company for Grain Processing included Rusafa silo and the marketing centre of Suwayra in Wasit province, the statement added.
