Bird flu confirmed in area near capital of Pakistan
Four chicken farms near Pakistan's capital of Islamabad have been hit by bird flu.
Officials in the area, called Chak Shazard culled up to 10,000 chickens.
The owners of these farms had earlier refused to cooperate in the culling process but agreed after the livestock department's assurance of compensation.
The livestock commissioner told media that the virus has been confirmed as bird flu but officials have it under control and vigilance against the disease has been enhanced.
