Discovery Of Illegally Imported Indian Beef In Indonesia

The Indonesian Consumers Institute Foundation (YLKI) is scheduled to make public the discovery of illegally imported Indian beef on Jakarta markets on Monday (May 24).

"The announcement to the general public of the existence of illegally imported Indian beef is very important, as the commodity may be infected with the mouth and hoof disease," YLKI's executive board member in charge of food and health Soekarto said here on Saturday.

The illegally imported Indian beef is packed in carton bearing certain brands, but claimed to have been imported from Australia and New Zealand.
