New Zealand 's GM Corn Investigation Continues

Corn crops from Northland to Hawke's Bay may have been affected by GM contamination.

New Zealand's Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is still investigating the locations where genetically modified corn seeds may have been planted and harvested after a testing laboratory in the US failed to pick up the contamination.

Earlier this month MAF announced nearly 400 bags of contaminated seeds had been sold to grain and seed merchants.

MAF spokesman Brett Sangster says the ministry has had terrific support from the importing company in locating the seeds.

He says MAF is still working through some options in regards to reimbursing crop owners.
