Nebraska, US corn and soybean planting lagging behind average pace

Corn and soybean planting in Nebraska, US, is progressing slower than the average pace, according to the US Department of Agriculture's latest report, Brownfield Ag News reported.
79% of the state's expected corn crop has been planted. This is close to the five-year average of 82% but behind last year's 84%. Currently, 38% of the corn crop has emerged.
Soybean planting is at 60%, which is below the five-year average of 66% and last year's pace of 74%. So far, 21% of the soybean crop has emerged.
Meanwhile, Nebraska's winter wheat crop is in 76% good to excellent condition, with 36% of the crop headed.
