Live pork prices up across Vietnam's regional markets

Live pork prices in Vietnam experienced a moderate increase of VND 1,000 - VND 3,000/kg (~US$0.043 – ~US$0.13), with prices of live pork across the three regions in the country ranging from VND 53,000 - VND 59,000/kg (~US$2.26 – ~US$2.51), Nongnghiep Vietnam reported.

In the Northern market, live pork prices saw a slight uptick in certain areas compared to the previous day. Markets at Hung Yen province raised the purchase price of pork to VND 59,000/kg (~US$2.51), up by VND 3,000/kg (~US$0.13), marking the highest level in the region.

Additionally, Bac Giang and Thai Binh provinces raised the price of live pork to VND 58,000/kg (~US$2.47). Except for Thai Nguyen province, where the price remained steady at VND 56,000/kg (~US$2.39), other localities simultaneously increased prices by VND 1,000 - 2,000/kg (~US$0.043 - ~US$0.085), reaching approximately VND 55,000 - 56,000/kg (~US$2.34 - ~US$2.39).

Similarly, live pork prices in the Central and Central Highlands markets saw a slight increase in select areas compared to the previous day. Quang Nam raised prices to VND 55,000/kg (~US$2.34) after a VND 1,000/kg (~US$0.043) increase. Ha Tinh, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, and Ninh Thuan followed suit by matching this price level. Quang Binh, after a minor price hike, reached VND 56,000/kg (~US$2.39). Binh Thuan also increased the price by VND 1,000/kg (~US$0.043) to VND 57,000/kg (~US$2.43), which is the highest price in the region and aligns with Lam Dong.

Other provinces did not witness any changes, with Quang Tri maintaining the lowest price in the region at VND 53,000/kg (~US$2.26).

Moving to the southern market, live pork prices rose by VND 1,000/kg (~US$0.043) compared to the previous day. Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, and Soc Trang established a purchase price of VND 56,000/kg (~US$2.39) after the same increase of VND 1,000/kg (~US$0.043).

Similarly, traders in Dong Nai and Vung Tau raised prices to VND 57,000/kg (~US$2.43). Ben Tre experienced a marginal price increase as well, setting the purchasing price at VND 58,000/kg (~US$2.47), the highest level in the region.
