China sees record summer grain crops in Henan Province
This year, Henan Province in Central China expects to reap bumper summer grain crops with an increase in sowing area and peak growing conditions.
A month away from wheat crops harvest, Henan Province is one of the major grain producing province in China.
In 2011, Henan's summer grain output hit 31.3 million tonnes, accounting for nearly 5% of the nation's full year grain production.
Industry insiders predict new wheat prices to stabilise at around RMB2,200/tonne (US$348), higher than the minimum purchase prices of RMB2,040/tonne (US$323) set by the government.
