BOCM Pauls buys Cranswick's pig-feed operations
UK's animal feed supplier BOCM Pauls will acquire the 30 year-pig-feed operations of British pig seller and sausage maker, Cranswick.
According to a statement by Martin Davey, Cranswick's executive chairman, the sale was brought by difficulties in the trading environment following the substantial reduction in the UK pig herd.
With the sale of the pig feed operation at an undisclosed price, Cranswick will now concentrate on its premium food business and its smaller pet-food and pig-marketing arms.
Cranswick was established as a pig-feed seller by a group of farmers in the early 1970s and began expanding its operations in 1998.
