EU lowers yield estimates for wheat and rapeseed

The European Commission has lowered its average yield estimates for soft wheat and rapeseed in the forthcoming season, due to declining prospects for crops in the UK, Ireland and eastern parts of the bloc.

"The current prospects for EU27 yields remained close to the average," the EU's Monitoring Agricultural Resources (Mars) said in a report on May 21.
