Brazil's pig slaughter dropped 1.8% in Q1 2024
Brazil's pig slaughter totaled 13.92 million head in the first quarter of 2024, representing a 1.8% decrease compared to the same period in 2023, according to preliminary results for first-quarter animal production.
Compared to the fourth quarter of 2023, the country's pig slaughter fell by 1.6%.
Accumulated carcass weight was 1.28 million tonnes in the first quarter of 2024, down 1.0% from the first quarter of 2023 and 1.6% from the previous quarter.
