Lysine producers cut prices to stimulate sales in China

Lysine prices moved lower during the week ending May 21.

Demand for lysine showed little improvement with soymeal costs falling and the hog sector suffering substantial losses. With supplies plentiful, lysine producers slashed prices in attempts to clear stocks.

Price quotes of 70-percent lysine fell to RMB4.40-4.90/kg.

The price fall may encourage some feed millers to increase lysine stocks.
