Vietnam buys 4,029 Aussie cows

Vietnam has imported 4,029 cows from Australia for distribution to farms and slaughterhouses throughout the country.

The cows, which arrived at Cai lan Port in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh province, on May 15, were valued at US$6 million, local news site dtinews reported.

They will be raised by Phu Lam Ltd Co. in Mong Cai City before distribution. Dtinews reported that this is the largest FDI project in Quang Ninh province.

Phu Lam farm has received the Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System certificate from the Australian Department of Agriculture, and will as well receive the necessary guidance during the raising and veterinary processes.

There is also an existing agricultural cooperation between Vietnam and Australia, under which they will step up the development of slaughterhouses, and processing and preservation facilities to international export standards toward a complete chain of beef production.
