Sluggish demand continues to weaken China methionine prices
Prices of methionine continued to fall during the week ending May 21.
Weak prices of egg and broiler decimated the sales of poultry feed, prompting feed producers to limit output. Methionine demand remained slack as a result, exerting pressure on the market. In a bid to clear excess stocks, methionine producers cut prices over the week.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine slid to the range of RMB19.20-19.70/kg.
