Qinchuan cattle holds promise as China's Wagyu

Qinchuan's cattle has the potential to become a world-level high-quality table cattle breed, announced Chinese cattle breeding experts on May 18th.

This breed, which lives in Shaanxi Province's Guanzhong Basin, eats roughages, is stress-resistant and produces good-quality meat, ranking first among China's five best cattle breeds.

Qinchuan's cattle have been distributed to more than 20 provinces and cities in China and is now China's most widely-distributed regional quality breed.

Cao Binghai, Associate Professor of the Table Beef Research Center of the China Agricultural University, who conducted experiments between Japan's famed Wagyu cattle and Qinchuan cattle, found that the meat of the improved Qinchuan cattle is comparable to that of Japanese Wagyu cattle.
