Vietnam's Northern Mountainous Provinces Encouraged To Develop Aquaculture

Vietnam Deputy Fisheries Minister Nguyen Viet Thang lauded northern mountainous provinces for their achievements in aquaculture, and urged them to continue developing it in order to help locals, especially ethnic people, improve their living standard.

The Deputy Minister asked these provinces to quickly build their own aquaculture development programmes, defining their natural potential, breeders, as well as the use of the appropriate breeding technology and processing methods.

The Fisheries Ministry will continue subsidising the transport cost of aquatic breeds, build more aquatic breed centres and satellite breeding establishments to provide sufficient breeds to farmers, Thang stressed.
