Innovasea acquires UK-based aquaculture tech firm, Aquanetix

US-based aquaculture technology and equipment company, Innovasea, has recently completed the acquisition of Aquanetix, a prominent aquaculture software company based in the UK, IntraFish reported.

As part of this expansion, Innovasea has relocated its operations to a new office in Corinth, Greece.

Aquanetix, established in 2015, specializes in the development of cloud-based aquaculture management software, providing innovative solutions for the aquaculture industry.

With offices already established in the US, Canada, Norway, Chile, and Australia, Innovasea's decision to expand to Greece marks its second major expansion in the past three years, following the opening of a Chilean office in 2020.

The move to Greece is expected to bolster Innovasea's presence in the Mediterranean and Middle East markets, according to Innovasea's chief executive officer David Kelly.

The deal between Innovasea and Aquanetix was finalised earlier this year, but the financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Aquanetix' farm management software is being used to grow about 30 species of fish and shrimp across 200 farms in 31 countries.
