China Soymeal: Market strengthens on high import costs, lower projected production (week ended May 17, 2021)
China's Agricultural Department projected soy planting acreage to shrink by 5.4% in 2021, decreasing soy production by 4.8% to 18.65 million tonnes. This, together with high import costs of US soy, lifted prices of soymeal substantially.
