USDA bans Nebraska's poultry exports to Taiwan
The USDA has banned all poultry products from the state of Nebraska for export to Taiwan.
Poultry products loaded on board a vessel on or after May 16 are ineligible for export to Taiwan, according to the latest version of Export Requirements for Taiwan issued by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
Those products loaded on or before May 15 are not affected.
The requirements also ban any poultry sourced from birds hatched or raised in Canada from being exported to Taiwan.
FSIS, however, did not specify the reason for the change.
FSIS had previously prohibited poultry from Missouri that were loaded on board a vessel on or after April 19 from being exported to Taiwan.
