United Pork Americas to hold first pre-event online symposium with swine industry players
United Pork Americas (UPA) will hold its first pre-event online symposium with specialists from the international swine industry on May 25.
According to Flavia Roppa, president of the UPA, the meeting will be promoted due to the most vital need to understand the future dynamics of the competitive scenario of the world's swine production systems.
"Global topics essential for the swine industry will be addressed, such as the impact of the war between Russia and Ukraine, African swine fever, production costs, opportunities and challenges for swine production in the Americas, as well as the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on swine farming," she said.
Confirmed speakers for the United Pork Americas Pre-Event Symposium are Nathan Losey, grain and livestock market analyst at AgResource Company, and Richard Herzfelder, senior consultant for the international meat industry at Gira Consulting and Research. They will discuss the theme "Global Markets: The Americas' Opportunity' for future advancements in exports, quality, health and profitability".
"The speakers will first outline the current structure of the global pork production system and then provide their theories on the factors that could change the competitive and international landscape going forward," Roppa added.
Focusing on the importance of the global market for swine farming, the pre-event online symposium will reinforce the importance of themes that will be explored at the main event happening in September, in Orlando, Florida, the United States.
