Poland's pig inventory in April 2021 down 9.4% from January 2021
Poland has witnessed a significant drop in its pig inventory and the number of pig farms.
In April 2021, the country's pig inventory was 10.2 million head, which is down 9.4% from January 2021. The pig inventory was at such levels 70 years ago.
According to ARMA data, more than 20,000 pig farms were liquidated during the past few months.
At the end of April, there were just 80,006 farms, compared to January of this year with 103,659 pig farms.
