China methionine prices break new lows
Prices of methionine dipped further during the week ending May 16.
Domestic demand for methionine was slack as feed producers were reluctant to step up production while broiler and layer farms were incurring losses. With supplies plentiful and new producers eager to gain market shares, methionine prices continued to slide to new lows.
For liquid methionine, price quotes were mainly in the range of RMB17.50/kg.
