INDO LIVESTOCK 2017 Expo & Forum - which is organised by PT Napindo Media Ashatam with the support of Indonesia's Director General of Livestock and Animal Health Services (Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia) - commenced its 12th edition this week.

The biggest livestock industry trade show in Indonesia will be held at Grand City Convex Surabya on May 17-19.  

More than 300 companies from 30 countries are expected to be present at the event which serves to facilitate business meetings between entrepreneurs, animal health experts, breeders, suppliers and distributors.

Additionally, there are six countries pavilions which include Indonesia, Europe and America, South Korea, Taiwan, China and Turkey.

In addition to the launch of the latest products, INDO LIVESTOCK features 12 seminars and more than 46 technical product presentation as well as business matchmaking services.

This year, the event held the Indonesia Livestock Services Award which is dedicated to successful industry players in Indonesia's livestock sector. Specifically, state actors hailing from district and municipal governments will be honoured for their efforts in driving the industry. Assessment of the awardees focus on services undertaken by these authorities to improve animal husbandry and animal health. The award is held in cooperation with PT Napindo Media Ashatama and Yayasan Pengembangan Peternakan Indonesia (YAPPI), a foundation established by several farm organisations.

INDO LIVESTOCK also holds a 'socialisation' programme that educates and encourages the increased consumption of animal protein like milk, meat, egg and fish. The purpose of the programme is to raise public awareness over the importance of origin of animal protein.
