Aquaculture Breeding Centres To Be Set Up In Vietnam

The Vietnamese government will assist cities and provinces throughout the country, particularly in the Mekong Delta, to establish aquaculture breeding centers by 2010 under a development programme by the Ministry of Fisheries.

These centres will help produce high-quality breeds, with the focus on shrimp. At present, the production and supply of shrimp, especially in brackish waters, do not meet local demand.
