Belarus' agricultural firms sow corn over 244,000 hectares

 

 

The agricultural groups of Belarus have sowed corn for grain over 244,000 hectares, which composed the 101.3% of the planned areas, as of May 10, 2012, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food announced.

 

In general, agrarians planted spring crops throughout 2,010.3 thsd hectares (78.8% of the plan), including early spring grains and leguminous plants - 987.1 thsd hectares (95.1%). Spring rapeseed areas occupied 54.8 thsd hectares (67.1%), sugar beet - 98.4 thsd hectares (99.3%).

 

In 2012, Belarus plans to provide the spring planting works throughout the areas of nearly 2.6 million hectares.
