Japan purchases feed barley and wheat
Japan bought 102,600 tonnes of feed barley and 6,100 tonnes of feed wheat in a tender on May 11, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said.
Shipments for the grains must be made by August 31, said Toshiki Tojo of the ministry's grain-trade division said. A breakdown of countries of origin wasn't available, he said.
The ministry plans to hold its next tender on May 18 for a maximum of 50,000 tonnes of feed wheat and 200,000 tonnes of feed barley, Tojo said.
