China's corn exports rise 50% in April
China's corn exports increased 50% on-year to 9,912 tonnes in April, the General Administration of Customs announced Tuesday (May 10).
The country exported a total of 20,158 tonnes of corn throughout January to April, down 63.3% on-year.
On a separate note, China sold 6,348 tonnes of state corn reserves in an auction in Anhui province at an average price of RMB1,608 (US$248)/tonne Tuesday, sources reported.
The volume of corn sold accounted for 35.07% of that which was auctioned.
