First PRRSV outbreak in Nepal confirmed

The first outbreak of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) in Nepal was reported to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) on April 26.

The outbreak in the country started on February 25 at a commercial pig farm with 356 susceptible animals.

The origin of the infection is currently unknown.
