More than 7% drop for Spain's pork and prepared product exports in Q1

Spain's pork and prepared product exports have decreased by more than 7% in the first quarter of 2023.

The country exported a total of 382,191 tonnes of pork and prepared pork products between January and March 2023, a decrease of 7.4% compared to the same period last year when 412,822 tonnes were exported.

Exports to China, the leading destination, showed a slight increase of 1% over the same period of the previous year (166,264 tonnes versus 164,549 tonnes). Exports to Japan increased by 19%, going from 50,791 tonnes to 60,195 tonnes.

Shipments to the Philippines and South Korea fell by 24% and 26%, respectively.
