Russian agrarians sow spring crops over 11.1 million ha

The Russian agrarians sowed spring agricultural crops over 11.1 million ha up to present, a rise of 3.2 million ha compared with the same date in 2011.

According to the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture, agrarians of the Russian Federation planted spring wheat throughout 1.1 million ha, spring barley - 3.2 million ha, corn - 0.7 million ha, sunflower seed - 1.3 million ha.

The country plans to provide the spring planting campaign in 2012 throughout the areas of 50.7 million ha. Winter grains planted areas totalled 16.1 million ha, to date agrarians provided additional fertilising throughout 9.6 million ha.
