Uganda's Bureau of Statistics releases first aquaculture census report

The Uganda Bureau of Statistics has released the first-ever aquaculture census report, showing the production of over 65 metric tonnes of fish from various farms across Uganda.

Officials said the findings come at a critical time, as the country pushes to transition more households from subsistence farming into commercial production.

The landmark study is expected to reshape planning in the fisheries sector and set a precedent for data-driven fish farming across Africa.
