Argentina eyes increase in wheat sown area
According to Bahia Blanca Grains Exchange, the wheat planted area of Argentina is predicted to climb 1.5% from the previous season to 6.7 million hectares thanks to favourable weather, Reuters reported.
It said the latest rains have partially restored soil moisture, which will provide a good starting point for wheat sowing.
The Buenos Aires Grains Exchange also has estimated this season's wheat planting at 6.7 million hectares.
Wheat planting in the country will start in earnest in mid-May.
