Perdue Farms to test whole plant for COVID-19

 

 

Beginning Wednesday, Perdue Farms will be testing everyone at its facility for COVID-19, according to Dr Steven Stack in Governor Beshear's daily briefing, reported 14 News.

 

"I've been in communication with leadership from Perdue, talking about their plant in Ohio County," Dr Stack said. "I'm very grateful to them for the dialogue. They are going to test their entire factory tomorrow."

 

Susan Dunlap with the Kentucky Department for Public Health says Perdue Farms currently has 181 positive employees.

 

Perdue says all of its plants undergo cleaning every 24 hours.

 

The statement reports positive cases in other meat facilities. They say Specialty Food Group in Daviess County has 33 positive employees.

 

The statement says Tyson Foods in Henderson County has 93 positive employees.
