Lysine producers negotiate prices in China amid subdued demand

Lysine prices moved lower during the week ending May 7.

Lysine market was quiet after the May Day holidays, as feed millers withheld buying while soymeal prices softened.

Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine softened to the range of RMB8.80-8.90/kg.

Sales of lysine are expected to be slow with hog farming incurring losses and soymeal prices sliding.

RMB1=US$0.1574 (May 7)
