China Whey Weekly: Demand stays soft; prices remain stable (week ended May 7, 2018)
Hog farmers incurred a loss of around RMB200 per hog sold as prices were exceptionally weak. This, together with slow piglet feed consumption, curtailed the sales of whey. Nonetheless, whey traders were reluctant to lower prices as import costs rose amid tight supplies in the US.
