India's soymeal export decreases by 70.15%

During April 2013, India's soymeal export was 100,000 tonnes as compared to 336,000 tonnes in the same period of previous year showing a decrease of 70.15%.

Overall demand of soymeal is poor all across the world. Indian soymeal prices are not competitive in comparison to international rates which have resulted in decline in exports.

During current oil year, (October-September), exports during the period October 2012-April 2013 were 2,697,000 tonnes as against 3,121,000 tonnes last year, showing a decline of 13.60%.

The data has been collected and compiled by Soy Processors Association of India based on the information received from the members, port authorities and other agencies. The data does not include exports to Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh by rail or road.
