Sumitomo and ASA hold Animal Nutrition Seminar in Vietnam
Press release
A total of about 150 people from the feed industry attended the Animal Nutrition Seminar held on Apr 10 in Ho Chi Minh City and on Apr 12 in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Jointly held by Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. and the American Soybean Association (ASA), the seminar featured distinguished speakers who touched on important topics including the role of methionine in pig and poultry diets:
1) The Role of Methionine and a New Feed Additive in Pigs presented by Dr A. Matsuda,
Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan
2) Using Methionine in Poultry Diets under Tropical Conditions presented by Dr Chaiyapoom
Bunchasak, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand
3) Balancing Protein with Synthetic Amino Acids presented by Dr Robert A. Swick, American
Soybean Association Singapore
Last year, Sumitomo and ASA jointly held a similar seminar in India. This year's seminar sought to bring more knowledge and the latest information about the feed industry to feed producers.
All attendees were able to know more about the use of soybean and methionine in feed, as well as the most efficient and economical way to produce high quality feed.
Sumitomo Chemical also took the opportunity to promote the quality of its powdered and liquid methionine products in Vietnam's market. In addition, it has introduced a new feed additive in pig feed, which will be launched at the end of 2006. This product has gained much interest from most attendees, especially those in the swine industry.
As a major methionine producer in Asia, Sumitomo Chemical will seek to maintain its market leading position within this region, and will bring more technical support, such as organising technical seminars, to all feed producers.
