Ukraine Poultry Processor Builds Oilseed Processing Plant
CJSC Myronivsky Khliboprodukt, Ukraine's largest poultry producer, has launched a new oilseed processing plant, the company told Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.
It is located on the territory of the Myronivsky cereals and mixed fodder factory in Kyiv region. The plant is able to process up to 620 tons of sunflower and rapeseeds per 24 hours. In addition to the oilseed processing plant, the new production complex includes a new 20,000-ton grain storage facility. The construction of the facility has made it possible to increase storage capacity by 25%.
Myronivsky Khliboprodukt has also launched the second phase of the cereals and mixed fodder factory. The overall mixed fodder output capacity is now doubled to 460,000 tons of mixed fodder a year.
There are plans by the company to operate a new plant which burns sunflower seed husks to recycle waste from oilseed processing. Moreover, it intends to put out up to 10 tons of steam to provide the enterprise with low-priced thermal energy. Both projects are set for September 2005.
The oilseed processing plant construction project is estimated at around $12 million. The plant will produce sunflower oil and protein additives to fodder. Presently, the company's share in Ukraine's overall poultry production is estimated at 40%. The company's poultry factories boosted production by 57% from 2002 to 80,000 tons last year.
