China Corn: Market stays firm on limited supply (week ended May 3, 2021)
Corn sellers, who had limited stocks to offer, stood firm on prices amid low inventory pressure. Demand was stable before the May Day holidays as feed producers increased stockpiles. However, deep processors, who were making limited profits held back purchases.
Corn prices rose by 0.67% compared with the previous week.
Feed production is expected to expand, in the coming period. This, coupled with tight availability, should lend support to corn market.
