Chinese lysine producers stand firm amid higher output costs

Lysine prices were stable during the week ending May 4.

Corn production costs rose steadily as corn prices climbed further. Producers were therefore reluctant to negotiate prices even though domestic sales showed little signs of improving with hog market weakening.

Price quotes of 70-percent lysine were at RMB5.40-5.60/kg.

Lysine prices are seen stable to higher in the coming period.

RMB1=US$0.1451 (May 4)
