Belarus' agricultural firms sow spring crops over 1.368 million ha

As of May 2, 2012, agricultural firms of Belarus sowed spring agricultural crops over the areas of 1.368 million ha, or 51.6% of the planned areas, according to data reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

Agrarians already planted early spring grains and leguminous crops throughout 812.6 thsd ha (78.3% of the plan). Agrarians plan to complete their planting works next week.

Belarusian agrarians planted corn throughout the areas of 307.5 thsd ha (29.4% of the planned areas), including corn for grain - 179.2 thsd ha (68.7%), flaxseed - 31.6 thsd ha (50.2%).
