Russia's major grains export seen at 26.4 million tonnes

 

 

Russia exported 1.7-1.75 million tonnes of grains in April 2012, against 1.77 million tonnes in March 2012, according to forecast of the analytical centre CJSC RusAgroTrans.

 

The forecast for May and June 2012 - 1.2-1.4 million tonnes, and 0.7-0.9 million tonnes, respectively.

 

During July -April period of the season-2011/12, Russia exported nearly 24.1 million tonnes of basic grains, and including peas and flour in grain equivalent - nearly 25 million tonnes. By the end of the season, the export volumes of the major grains from Russia may reach the level of 26.4 million tonnes.

 

In April 2012, the shipment volumes of grains via the ports of Novorossiysk and Tuapse may total nearly 1.13 million tonnes, against 1.4 million tonnes in March.

 

Analysts of the company said that at the expense of purchasing of 649,000 tonnes of grains via the commodity intervention in the southern regions of the country, the major share of the volume may be intended for export operations at the end of May, June and July.
