Russian port to organise grain exports to the Asian-Pacific region
The main aspects of cooperation include reduction of transport expenditures during shipment of grain cargoes towards the Far East sea ports, and development of the transport infrastructure for storing, overloading, shipment of grains within edges of the Far East grain corridor, especially in the grain terminal of the Commercial Port of Vladivostok. The parties also reviewed the possible variants of formation and organisation of grain lots supplies from Novosibirsk oblast of Russia to the countries of the Asian-Pacific region, through the Commercial Port of Vladivostok.
The parties negotiated to form the working group for elaboration and realisation of providing of Siberian grain supplies through the Commercial Port of Vladivostok in the current year.
To date, the Commercial Port of Vladivostok is the only sea port in the Far East region, which realises grain shipment operations to almost all destinations: imports, exports, coastal trading. The existing production capacities of the port allow processing nearly one million tonnes of grains per year.
In the first quarter of 2010, grain shipment volumes in the Commercial Port of Vladivostok totalled 38152.4 tonnes, including 28174.7 tonnes of export grains, and 9977.7 tonnes of coastal trading grain volumes.
