Thailand to temporarily ban import of pork products
Thailand Ministry of Commerce (MOC) plans to temporarily prohibit the import of pigs and their organs from other countries in order to prevent A/H1N1 influenza, previously known as swine flu, from spreading into Thailand.
Department of Internal Trade (DIT) director Yanyong Puangratch said both MOC and DIT agreed that it was necessary to temporarily ban the importation of pigs and its organs from other countries in order to prevent the flu from spreading into the nation.
MOC would submit a proposal to the Cabinet for the approval of such measures.
