Jordan buys 120,000 tonnes feed barley
Jordan's Ministry of Trade and Industry said Wednesday (May 3) it bought 120,000 tonnes of feed barley, on a cost and freight basis.
"We bought 100,000 tonnes from Cargill, of European Union and Black Sea origin, at the price of US$148 a tonne, the first 50,000 tonnes for shipment May 15-31 and the second 50,000 tonnes for shipment from Jun 1-15," Muhannad Ghesh, senior importer at the ministry told Dow Jones Newswires.
Jordan also bought 20,000 tonnes of Ukranian barley from Galaxy at US$145.30/tonne for shipment Jun 1-15, Ghesh added.
Jordan last bought barley Mar 1 when it purchased 100,000 tonnes from Toepfer at US$155/tonne and 23,000 tonnes from Bunge at US$153.30/tonne.
