China Modern Dairy's 2013 sales volume up 42.8% on-year

 
 

 

For the year ended December 31, 2013, Modern Dairy had 22 farms with 186,838 dairy cows, with total sales volume increased by 42.8% on-year to 372,647 tonnes, maintaining its stable and leading market position in China's raw milk market.

 

During the six months ended 31 December 2013, total sales of milk produced recorded RMB1,901.2 million (US$304 million), a significant improvement of 74.0% compared with the corresponding period last year. Sales of its own brand of milk reached RMB204.3 million (US$33 million), a sharp increase of 262.9% compared with the corresponding period last year.
 
Cash earnings before interests, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) recorded RMB 612.9 million (US$98 million), an increase of 125.3% compared with RMB327.5 million (US$52 million) on-year, representing an increase of 92.3%.

 

Modern Dairy is the largest dairy farming company in terms of herd size as well as raw milk output in China. It is among the first companies in China to adopt a large-scale industrialised free-stall dairy farming business model. As of December 31, 2013, the Group had 22 farms operating with 186,838 dairy cows in total.
